Malt and EFIP teamed up to carry out the first European Freelancers Survey 2018. The goal? Paint a comprehensive picture of the status of independent work across Europe and make freelancers’ voice heard!

Freelancers account for 11 million people across Europe, i.e 7% of the total workforce: it is time to really understand their needs and expectations in order to adapt the world of work to their reality.

During 2 months, freelancers from across Europe answered a series of questions in order to share their motivations and mindset in a time when the labour market is changing so quickly. The results are enlightening since 77% of the respondents became freelancers by choice, one of the main reasons being the ability to have flexibility in their schedule.
