In the last weeks our colleague, Leneke van Rossum, was in San Francisco and Los Angeles creating and experimenting some serendipity. One of those serendipitous encounters was with Carly from Sama Source. The company was founded by Leila Janah, name one of Elle’s 2016 Top Women in Tech, and co-founder of the beauty brand LXMI.

Both Sama Source and LXMI have one thing in common: they get people out of the poverty line, not by giving aid, but by giving jobs. This is Leila’s philosophy on social entrepreneurship, and with that idea in mind, she wrote the book Give Work, which was launched on September 26th and you can already buy it on Amazon.

In the book, the entrepreneur gives examples of how Sama Source manages to give people under the poverty line to get hired by tech giants as Google and eBay. And how much impact you can generate by educating and creating jobs. You can know more about Sama Source in the video below.
