How do I make my product or service more fitting to the needs of my customer?
How do I enhance the way my team works and how do I have them feed off each other?
What do I need to do to make my boss proud of my work?
All these questions are questions that you will encounter once you start your entrepreneurial journey but also as an employee of a big corporation. But how do you answer these questions? And what outcome does your solution have in the long term?
What is Design Thinking and why I should care?
Design Thinking, also called user-centered thinking, is a solution-based approach to problems, first coined in the creative sector. Extensively studied by Ivy-League universities such as Stanford and widely embraced by companies such as Apple and Microsoft but also government institutions such as the World Economic Forum, Design Thinking has taken its place as one of the more prominent approaches to daily challenges. It entails a holistic way of looking at a problem, getting input from the people involved and coming to a solution that everyone is satisfied with. This holistic approach is both fitting to design problems as well as leadership problems and performance problems.
What is this workshop and is it something for me?
In this workshop we will introduce Design Thinking, giving you the tools out of the toolbox to essentially start applying Design Thinking into your own business or line of work. We do not believe in lectures that take two hours after which we leave you in the dark. This is why we will give you a short introduction to Design Thinking and the hybrid ways it can be applied. After this short talk, we will leave you with some exercises, immediately applying the just learned material through Stanford thought exercises.
Why is this workshop free?
We want to empower all people to use the potential behind Design Thinking. For this reason, we decided to offer this workshop for free.
What do I get out of it?
It’s a great introduction to Design Thinking. After this workshop, you will have acquired the tools to employ Design Thinking in your own business setting, either in a global team project, education or social endeavor. You will be able to apply Design Thinking to come up with ‘out-of-the-box’ solutions that will satisfy your team and your end-user, ultimately increasing revenue and customer satisfaction in the long-term.
