4 Useful Iphone Tools I Randomly Discovered

My average screen time is around 4 hours per day and I have a strong feeling that my iPhone knows way more things about me than I do about its hidden (or not so hidden) functionality. Regular iOS/apps updates and the perks they bring along definitely helped my constant desire to make work processes faster, easier, and more automated…when I randomly found them while working hard on increasing my screen average time  :)

Here is my list of the 4 things I recently found out I could do with my iPhone. The things were discovered by me, while instructions are taken from the Official Apple Website.

Screen recording with Iphone.

Watching the videos of other people’s screen recordings, I’ve always though they used an app for it, which I yet not got my hands on. However, it’s way easier than that.

1. Go to Settings > Control Center > Customize Controls, then tapnext to Screen Recording.
2. Swipe up from the bottom edge of any screen. On iPhone X or later or iPad with iOS 12 or later, swipe down from the upper-right corner of the screen.
3. Press deeply on  and tap Microphone.
4. Tap Start Recording, then wait for the three-second countdown.
5. Open Control Center and tap . Or tap the red status bar at the top of your screen and tap Stop.
6. Go to the Photos app and select your screen recording

Making Scans With Notes

With iOS 11 and later, you can scan documents in Notes, and add a signature or manually sign a document. You can also add a signature or sign a document with an Apple Pencil and compatible iPad.

To scan a document:

1. Open a note or create a new note.
2. Tap , then tap Scan Documents.
3. Place your document in view of the camera on your device.
4. If your device is in Auto mode, your document will be automatically scanned. If you need to manually capture a scan, tap  or one of the Volume buttons.
5. Drag the corners to adjust the scan to fit the page, then tap Keep Scan.
6. You can add additional scans to the document or tap Save when you’re done.

Using a Live Photo on Instagram

1. Open Instagram and select the camera.
2. Create a new story and swipe up to select your Live Photo.
3. Upload a Live Photo and press and hold on the screen. This uses 3D Touch to create the Boomerang.
4. Post the Boomerang to your story and compose the rest of your post as you wish.

Add an Event to the iPhone Calendar with one Tap in WhatsApp 

If you’ve sent or received a text message that mentions a certain event/date/appointment-date agreement, you can just tap on it and your phone will automatically redirect you to making a calendar appointment.
